  1. Great posts! You might find it interesting to know that Frank Willis is buried outside of the main Bassett Cemetery because he didn’t want to be buried in the same plot as Eb Bassett, whom he detested.

Thank you, Kerry. I don’t visit here, often, so missed your post, but it is an honor that you visited my humble blog. I am fascinated by Ann and Robert Leroy, and someday want to write a story about their odd relationship through their lives.

Stumbling around.on the “inner-net”: Ann Bassett/Etta Place (same women?)……..Now, come across the Bassett Cemetery……..Will be in Craig later this year. Wondering: Is the Bassett Cemetery accessible…….? Fascinating; …….. Ann, Josie, Butch, Sundance……

  4. Steve Haas says:

Fred, it is accessible; there is a store and a gas station on the road leading up to the road that goes DOWN to the cemetery. Stop there and ask permission.

  5. Eileen Brown says:

Do you have an actual location for this cemetary? Google is no help. Staying in Jensen for a few more days and we are just fascinated by Josie’s story. Would love to go put some flowers on her grave. Thanks.

I enjoyed the information on Josie Basset. For those who are interested, find the book “Where the Old West Stayed Young” by John Rolfe Burroughs, published in 1962.
